Pastor Derrick James is an associate pastor at DaySpring Ministries and has been a member of DaySpring since May 1999. Prior to joining the ministry, Pastor Derrick, was an associate minister, at Turner Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Steelton, PA.
Pastor Derrick recently received his Associate in Arts in Human Services degree, from Harrisburg Area Community College, and is presently enrolled in Lancaster Bible College, pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies.
Pastor Derrick is currently employed with the Tri-County Community Action Commission TCCA, and serves as the supervisor for Fatherhood Programming. 24/7 Dad and Man to Man, are a few of the programs facilitated by Pastor Derrick. Utilizing evidence-based curricula from the National Fatherhood Initiative, the fatherhood programs focus on factors like masculinity, discipline, work-family balance, relationship building, and parenting skills over 12 weeks. Because of the enormous success of the fatherhood programs, Pastor Derrick has been sought after to replicate the programs in schools, substance abuse facilities and other counties.
Pastor Derrick has been married to his wife, April, for more than 22 years, and together they have two children, Tristan and Kelsey, and one granddaughter, Tristshel.
